SUSPECTS WHO SPECIALIZE IN STRANGLING OKADA RIDERS TO THEIR MOTOCYCLES WHERE ARREST BY BAUCHI STATE POLICE FOR ROBBERY

ARRESTED SUSPECTS
In a bid to checkmate cases of motorcycle theft/snatching and robberies, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Bauchi State Police Command on Wednesday, July 19 organized a search party, traced and arrested motorcycle thieves who specialized in strangling their victims in order to steal their motorcycles.
The suspects are identified as Kamalu Mohammed, 27 years of Nasarawa Jahun, Bauchi and Tijjani Musa, 23, of Bakaro ward, Bauchi
Exhibits recovered from them includes:
(i) Haojue motorcycle, RED in colour with chassis Number LC6XCHX1XE0067694 and Engine Number 15FMHXW2J79212

(ii) Haojue motorcycle, ash in colour with chasis No. LC6XCHX1E0046134 and Engine number 152FMHXWJ62395
(iii) One cable wire suspected to be used to strangle their victims
(iv) One sharp knife
(v) Three master keys
(vi) Vandalised parts of motorcycles

Both suspects who are ex-convicts are wanted in connection with numerous cases of motorcycle snatching/robbery.
Also arrested is a suspected notorious receiver of robbed/stolen motorcycle, Abubakar Umar, 35, of Turum ward Bauchi
The case is under investigation and the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution soonest.
A statement issued on Friday by spokesperson for the command, DSP Datti Abubakar calls on the general public to continue cooperating with police and other security agencies in combating crime in the state and report any incident to the police immediately for necessary action.
"It also wish to advice the commercial motorcycle riders (popularly known as OKADA) to be conscious of the caliber of people they carry as passengers and also avoid taking passenger to suspicious isolated areas."
